QuickEdit allows individual fields of a record to be edited directly without having to open the full edit view. The function is available in the following areas:
2. Operation
On mouseover of a field, the action icon pencil appears. QuickEdit can be executed in two ways:
- Clicking the action icon “pencil”
- Double-clicking the field
The field then becomes directly editable. After entering a value, it is saved by clicking outside the field or by pressing the Enter key.
3. Validation with QuickEdit
When editing via QuickEdit, the entire record is validated. If required fields or other validation rules are not fulfilled, the corresponding error messages are displayed.
If errors are detected in more than one field during validation, each error message is displayed prefixed with the name of the affected field. This makes it immediately apparent which field is causing the error, even if the error does not lie in the field currently being edited.
